About
Murat Barisik, raised in Malatya, Turkey, graduated in 2001 from Malatya Science High School. He attended Middle East Technical University that autumn as a Mechanical Engineering major. In 2006, he graduated as an honor student, and continued his education with an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Heat Transfer Studies. During his two years of MS, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Middle East Technical University and also received a scholarship from TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) to work on "Microscale Heat Transfer" project under the Grant Number 106M076 with Prof. Sadik Kakac. In 2008, he started his PhD in Aerospace Engineering in Old Dominion University with Prof. Ali Beskok. Currently, he is working on "Nanoscale Gas Transport" and “Nanoscale Heat Transfer " supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant Numbers DMS 0807983 and CBET 0931988 respectively.
